The COVID-19 pandemic has without a doubt become the single largest threat to the fabric of global society and challenge to our healthcare systems in living memory.

During March 2020 it became apparent that the delivery of dental services would be impacted significantly as a result of the risk to patients and staff due to the virus.

During this short presentation the process of how we set about implementing a pioneering local urgent dental care service is discussed.

Learn about the journey from the  initial concept discussion between colleagues on 23rd March, two days in advance of the Chief Dental Officer (England) announcing the cessation of patient contact in general practice, to delivering a functioning service in a unique cooperation between primary and secondary care just eight days later.
