GDP Update Programme – Friday 3 March
Aims: The UK has been the fastest growing market in Implant Dentistry for the last few years, and someone in your locality offers dental implants and your patients know about this. Even if you don’t provide dental implants yourself you have an ethical obligation to recommend them to patients in the appropriate circumstances, and we all have patients attending with dental implants which need to be monitored and maintained properly. To get up to date with this exciting area of modern dentistry and become aware of the full range of treatment options for your patients, attend this unique session to bring you up to speed with dental implants. This Programme has been devised specifically for dentists with no previous experience with dental implants.
Technicians' Programme – Friday 3 March
Aims: To provide a comprehensive programme covering occlusion, design for grey maintenance/hygiene, ceramics/polymers, CAD/CAM and other important lab factors. Technician delegates attending will all take away something of benefit, to help them develop the skill set they need to be a great support partner for the restorative team and for those hygienists who help the patient maintain the restorations long term.

Students' Programme – Friday 3 March
Aims: To encourage the younger members of our profession to become more involved in implant dentistry, safely. In the morning, there will be presentations on the history and benefits of implant dentistry to patients, training in implant dentistry, the basics of implant placement and bone ridge assessment, and impressions and implant restoration. In the afternoon the fun will begin with live hands on surgery using fresh pigs' heads, where the delegates will divide into four groups and experience first hand what they have learned about in the morning lectures. Atraumatic extraction, socket grafting, implant placement and impression taking will all be shown by the lecturers and then experienced by the young dentists.
