Aims & Objectives

This 3 day course takes a pragmatic approach to implant dentistry. Led by dual qualified, Consultant Maxillofacial Surgeon, Mr Jagtar Dhanda, delegates will be taken on a comprehensive journey on how to surgically place and restore dental implants with confidence.

Event Content

The emphasis is on both restorative and surgical perspectives. Throughout the duration of the course, delegates will increase their knowledge on latest surgical equipment and have the opportunity to work with a variety of materials and learn what to use when. Delegates will be coached in complex treatment options, such as sinus elevation and full arch implant surgery to optimise their potential as an implant surgeon!

Day 1: Surgical & Restorative Considerations (08.30 – 17.00) Delegates will develop their understanding of diagnostics and treatment planning and cover surgical techniques including flap design, suturing methods, CT grafting and high lip considerations. The theoretical aspect of the day will conclude with restorative techniques including digital photography, shade taking, soft tissue management and occlusion. Delegates will then have the chance to see PRF and Piezo demonstrations followed by hands on activities and live surgery.

Day 2: Advanced Implant Cases (08.30 – 17.00) The theoretical aspect of day 2 will focus on more advanced techniques including sinus elevation, osseo-densification, guided surgery and software, implant-retained bridges and dentures as well as restorative workflows and techniques. Delegates will get the chance to put the theory into practice with hands-on activities and then watch a live surgical case of sinus elevation.

Day 3: Full Arch Immediate Loading (09.00 – 16.30) The final day of the course will cover implant solutions for larger spaces including full arch restorative options. Delegates will observe a live surgery, cover laboratory techniques while considering the provisional phase through to the final stage.
