Aims & Objectives

This certified one day implant course is aimed at dental assistants wishing to obtain an understanding of all aspects of implant dentistry and how best to progress their career to support their dentist as they undertake high-end dentistry. The course will be facilitated by Geraldine Temprell, tutor for Sheffield University Dental Hospital, who currently leads their dental nurse implant surgery and dental nurse implant courses. The course will consist of an interactive, group led discussion incorporating hands on training in setting up the surgery, practising aseptic technique and placement of implants.

Course Objectives –

  • Discuss aspects of aesthetics in Implant Dentistry and what is required to reaching patients expectations
  • Examine instrumentation required for implant techniques and preparing a sterile environment
  • Have a clear understanding of the nurses role on patient co-ordination and the need for accurate communication to patients including pre and post-operative care.
  • Discuss compromised medical histories.
  • Gain an insight into Nobel Clinician and CAD/CAM
