Download Event to Calendar

Presented by: Jagtar Dhanda
Host: Derek Bingham
Date: 5 February 2019
Time: 1900 Refreshments 1930 Lecture
Location: Crowne Plaza, Shaws Bridge, Belfast, BT8 7XP

Guided surgical approaches have been adopted in digital workflow for dental implant reconstructive techniques and have also been adopted in facial reconstruction. They offer a patient a specific approach in both ablation and reconstruction of the oral cavity. Jag will present a few cases that demonstrate the recent innovations in virtual surgical planning that embrace digital technology and offer an individualised approach in the management of head and neck malignancy for both dental and facial reconstruction.

Learning Objectives:

  • To understand the principles of advanced facial and dental reconstruction
  • To gain insights into new techniques in head and neck cancer ablation (iKnife and robotic surgery) and reconstruction (virtual surgical planning)
  • To appreciate the complexities of delivering both form and function in composite dentofacial reconstruction
