MORE ABOUT YOUR SPEAKER - Julia Glancey
I have worked in dentistry for over two decades. First as a head dental nurse where I was responsible for a team of nurses and the smooth running of the clinics. Then I decided I wanted a new challenge so I transferred and retrained as a dental technician. My years nursing has given me a great insight into the clinical side of dentistry and I have found this to prove extremely useful when adapting and applying that knowledge to my technical work.
I started my journey as a prosthetic technician, I am well versed in all removable appliances. I then decided to specialise in implant restorations, predominantly AOX case assessment, bridge design and fabrication. I am skilled in analog and digital workflows, using a variety of materials and softwares. I have spent years developing my knowledge and skills enabling me to become a multi-disciplined technician. I am proficient in Exocad, Zirkonzahn and RealGuide softwares. Designing prosthetic appliances, surgical guides, diagnostic wax ups and full arch implant restorations. I am currently studying all aspects of Crown and Bridge design. I also have extensive experience in people leadership, including team development and performance management. I love teaching and the exchange of knowledge. For me, growth comes from continuous learning and openness to every perspective.
