The Year One Implant Course offers a structured and comprehensive introduction to straightforward implant dentistry. As the first stage of our Curriculum in Implant Dentistry, developed in collaboration with the International Team for Implantology (ITI) and aligned with the ITI Online Curriculum, this course lays the foundation for clinical competence and long-term success in implantology.

Our goal is to support clinicians in progressing towards placing 50 implants per year, a significant step beyond the UK average of fewer than 15. We believe that true competence in implant dentistry can only be achieved through hands-on experience. That's why this course is heavily focused on practical training—using models, pig jaws, and supervised live surgery on patients—alongside high-quality lectures.

Participants also benefit from entry into the Straumann Mentoring Scheme, ensuring every delegate receives personalised support to apply their new skills with confidence in practice.

But the Year One Course is more than just a syllabus. It's about mentorship, community, and professional growth. It's the shared experiences—over coffee, meals, or a game of table football—that build confidence and spark ideas. It's the conversations on marketing, patient access, and how to integrate implants into your practice.

For some, this is a standalone foundation. For others, it's the beginning of a longer journey into Year Two and Year Three, or even a return as mentors and teachers.

Each stage of the curriculum is connected through the ITI Online Curriculum, guiding you toward the ITI Diploma in Implant Dentistry.
