'Synergy in Dental Implants'
Combining site specific implants, novel bone manipulation techniques and alloplastic bone regeneration materials to achieve more than the sum of the parts.
My philosophy:
A selection of cases showcasing aspects of my daily practice.
Longer term reviews.
An opportunity to dig into the detail, debate with me and really extract the marrow from this subject.
Learning objectives:
- to understand the concept of site specificity with regard to implant choice regarding both size, shape, specific surface features and internal angle correction of said implants
- to gain knowledge regarding the philosophy of synergy pertinent to my implant practice, where the appropriate implant, graft, grafting technique and bone manipulation combine to provide me with consistent outcomes
- to learn more about immediate loading in the aesthetic zone
- to understand more about the use of customised healing abutments.
Biography
Dominic O’ Hooley BDS, FCGDent (UK), MFDS RCS (Eng), MFDS RCPS (Glasg), MAGDS RCS (Ed).
Dominic qualified from Liverpool University in 1993 and after working in hospital dentistry, he has been committed to private dentistry for over two decades.
Placing and restoring dental implants for many years, Dominic is extremely experienced at bone grafting, sinus lifting and aesthetically challenging cases. Dominic enjoys pushing the boundaries and has been deeply involved in exploring the potential of the Southern Inverta implant paradigm. In addition to Inverta, he uses Southern site specific implants as the core of his implant practice, often in synergy with alloplastic grafting with Ethoss and bone manipulation techniques using Versah. He lectures Worldwide and writes extensively in the dental press, becoming someone who has been second to none in exploring the science of COVID-19 and dentistry and also, in looking in forensic detail at dental regulation.
In his own words, "The key to my implant practice is synergy. Versah as my go-to bone manipulation tool, with the right site-specific implants and a bone graft that optimises the growth of the patients own bone. I feel this gives my patients the optimal way to achieve predictable long term successful outcomes."
Dominic is married to Rebecca with five lovely children. He relaxes by trail running and enjoys the cut and thrust of debate.
