Thanks to a range of new developments into digital dentistry, we now have the ability to start planning and preparing for surgery without the need for endless patient visits. We can now create a digital reference of the patient’s oral cavity in which we can carry out analysis and subsequent production of tools and apparatus to aid us during surgery. A guided surgery workflow allows us to create a surgical plan based on a ‘top down’ philosophy, where the implant position is not only placed in a biologically ideal position, but also in a position that will benefit the design and function of any prosthesis we place into/onto it.
Aims & Objectives
Understand how CBCT and Intra-Oral scans are used in guided surgery
• Learn about guided surgery as a concept
• Understand how R2Gate guided software is used to achieve your goals
• Develop an understanding of how to use the R2Gate system, confirmation software, etc
• Learn how to use a range of features in order to analyse and plan your cases
