President's Welcome
Dear Friends and Colleagues,
It gives me great pleasure to welcome you to the ADI Team Congress 2019 entitled ‘Shaping the Future of Dental Implantology: Techniques - Technology - Teamwork’, to be held on 2 – 4 May 2019 at the EICC, Edinburgh. The Congress programmes will explore current hot topics and look to the future to discover what’s next in the world of implant dentistry.
The last time the Congress was held in Edinburgh was 2005. So much has changed in the world of implant dentistry since then. ADI has passed its 30th birthday and has grown into one of the UK’s leading dental organizations, with over 2250 members.
The biennial ADI Team Congress is one of the foremost dental implantology meetings in Europe, with its unique combination of a Plenary Programme with internationally renowned speakers, parallel programmes for technicians, nurses & practice managers, hygienists & therapists and students, as well as corporate forums, a large exhibition, electronic posters and fantastic social events.
Industry will make an invaluable contribution to the Congress. The Congress Exhibition will host an array of leading implant-related companies, and the corporate forums will provide a unique opportunity to view key developments in the dental implant market.
As well as the educational experience, the Congress is renowned for having social events that provide a great opportunity to network and to renew friendships. Come and join us for the Congress Drinks. The Congress Dinner will provide time to relax and party in the spectacular National Museum of Scotland.
A World Heritage Site, Edinburgh is a wonderful city to visit and is full of attractions. The Congress takes place on a Bank Holiday weekend, so why not extend your stay to enjoy Edinburgh and explore beyond Edinburgh city limits and discover the Lothians region of Scotland?
I’d like to thank my fellow members of the ADI Congress Committee who have volunteered their time and expertise over the past few years to make this such a special event - Peter Fairbairn, Stephen Jacobs, Zaki Kanaan (Chair), Eimear O’Connell and Bill Schaeffer - as well as Ashley Byrne and Julia Wilson for putting together the Technicians’ Programme and DCP Programmes respectively. I’d also like to thank the ADI Office team for their tireless work behind the scenes: Neelam Bhanot (Congress Organizer), Abigail Haviland, Tim Hogan, Dorothy Iseghohi and Imogen Lintzgy.
I look forward to welcoming you to what I am sure will prove to be a truly memorable event.
Abid Faqir
ADI President
