Congress 2011
ADI Team Congress 2011
Thursday 14 - Friday 15 April
Manchester Central Convention Complex
Petersfield, Manchester M2 3GX

Dear Colleagues,

I have great pleasure in announcing the 2011 ADI Team Congress, and I am also delighted to announce that we are taking the meeting to a brand new venue: Manchester Central Convention Complex.

The Congress has now become the leading dental implant meeting in the United Kingdom and one of the foremost in Europe, with the unique combination of a plenary programme with internationally renowned speakers, parallel sessions for all dental care professionals, a large exhibition and a fantastic party.

The title of the congress is ‘What We Know, What We Think We Know and What We Think We Don’t Know About Implant Dentistry’.

The Congress will focus on the changes of opinion and practice that have occurred over the last 20 or so years, and together with my Scientific Chairman, Michael Norton, we have put together a programme of speakers that I believe is unsurpassed for a UK implant meeting.

The speakers have been asked to address the following aspects of implant dentistry:

  • techniques and opinions previously advocated that are now not so, or visa versa
  • the full circles travelled by implant clinicians in their daily practice over a period of time
  • the controversies and conflicts that we see in the practice of  implant dentistry

Dental implantology is a team specialty and the 2011 Congress programme continues to uphold and endorse this ethos. The team programme includes sessions for dental nurses, dental hygienists/therapists and practice managers, with the dental technicians being included in the plenary programme where we have two world-class technicians speaking.

I am particularly excited about the congress party, “A Hard Day’s Night”. It is being staged at Lancashire County Cricket Club (aka Old Trafford Cricket Ground) in The Point, a brand new purpose-built function suite overlooking the cricket ground. In addition to a cocktail bar we have a variety of entertainment, and top of the bill is the world famous BOOTLEG BEATLES, who are the best tribute band around.

This major event enables members and non-members, implant team staff and professional colleagues to renew friendships, make new contacts, discuss topical issues and catch up with the latest developments in this constantly growing specialty.

I look forward to welcoming you, and hopefully all your team, in Manchester in April.
