There is a constant evolution of concepts, techniques and materials, to achieve the ultimate goal in any restorative treatment, which is the perfect balance between hard and soft tissues, in order to obtain the aesthetic outcome from a biological and functional approach.

As dentistry evolves into the digital world, new generation restorative materials, combined with CAD/CAM technology and artistic skills, provides us more efficient and precise methods to develop natural looking restorations with a relatively simple execution, while enhancing the close cooperation and relationship of the dentist-technician team. CAD/CAM technology is generating a drastic change in how information is collected and processed. However, it is important to understand the fundamental concepts to optimize the digital protocols, since these are the steps in the evolution of digital dental workflow that will be modified and improved in the future.

Learning Objectives:

  • To understand how to adapt conventional techniques and procedures to digital technology
  • To develop new ways to improve optimal clinical - technical approach
  • To be able to identify areas within the practice where either 3D printing or milling technology can be used depending on each situation
  • To learn about the use of the latest restorative materials, based on the design and indication of the future restorations
