 Mark Cronshaw

Mark Cronshaw trained at Guy’s Hospital in London. He graduated in 1981 with a degree in biomedical sciences before completing his dental studies in 1984. He is a private practitioner in Cowes, Isle of Wight. He is a Professor a.c. at the University of Genoa and is highly active in laser education worldwide as a trainer and lecturer. Mark is on the editorial peer review panel of the journal Lasers in Medical Science and is on the Board of Laser Education International. He is actively involved in current research into the application of lasers to promote healing as well as in the regenerative aspects of oral surgery and periodontology. He has published a number of recent scientific papers on the management of adult chronic periodontal disease and peri-implantitis using lasers as an adjunct. He is a contributing author to the 2016 textbook on photomedicine “Atlas of Laser Therapy” which introduced the Genoa flat top handpiece technique for predictable clinical outcomes in photobiomodulation. Also, Mark is a contributory author in the new text “Lasers in Dentistry: Current Concepts”. He is a doctoral candidate at Birmingham University and the topic of his research is laser and light tissue interaction with regards to clinical phototherapy.
