DESCRIPTION:\nAt the start of our implant journey we can be more concerned with learning what to do rather than why to do it. Ignoring the science that underpins what we do makes us technicians rather than clinicians and means that we don't understand why we experience occasional failures. The presentation through a mixture of clinical photographs\, animations and scientific paper reviews aims to help delegates understand the factors which affect integration and why one timetable doesn't apply to every patient. We will look at bone quality\, loading stresses\, medical factors and pharmacology which affect hard and soft-tissue healing and resistance to stress. \n\n
