The clinical utility of lasers in implant dentistry

This talk is an exploration, overview and whistle stop tour of the utility of dental lasers (specifically a diode laser and an erbium laser) in implantology, including bed preparation, site preparation, second stage recovery, management of infection, soft tissue manipulation, and therapeutic applications. Comparisons are drawn with conventional and newer technologies.

Raj WadhwaniRaj Wadhwani is the clinical director of the Antwerp House Group based in Cambridgeshire, North Hertfordshire and Suffolk. Raj set up the group from small beginnings in February 1999 originally as an NHS practice and today this group has expanded to several locations delivering primary care dentistry and referral based practice.

Raj completed a masters progamme in Prosthodontics at the GKT institute, and subsequently an Implantology masters programme at Warwick University. He continues his studies today in Orthodontics at the same university due to his multidisciplinary caseload.  Raj accepts referrals for prosthodontics, implantology and orthodontics.

Raj founded and chairs the North Hertfordshire Journal club. He is a tutor on the London Restorative Diploma at the Royal College of Surgeons and examines for the Diploma as well. He has developed an interest in the use of laser technology in dentistry and has written several articles on this subject.
