Biomimetics is the art of mimicking nature, and in dentistry biomimetics can be applied in many ways.
The goal of this presentation will be to highlight new materials and methods to transform conventional dentistry into biomimetic.
The presentation has six interesting chapters dealing with soft tissue problems (gingival recessions), bony problems (Infra-bony defects), soft and hard tissue problems (ridge defects), management of periodontal and prosthetic problems (around teeth and implants), problems related to excessive gingival display (gummy smile), and to finish peri-implantology (the art of making teeth on implants look natural). It will be an exciting journey through clinical approaches that will enhance your practice and results.
Dr Rossi graduated in dentistry with honours in Genova and then specialised in Periodontology at Boston University Graduate School of Dental Medicine in 1992.
He received the MScD in Periodontology with a publication in the Journal of Periodontology.
After returning to Italy he established a practice limited to periodontology and implant dentistry.
Dr Rossi has been doing research in the field of guided tissue regeneration with different groups. He has been a professor in the Department of Periodontology in different universities (Genova, Padova, Pisa, Chieti, Roma) and is a professor at the Master in Periodontology programme at the University of Roma ‘Sapienza since 2000.
He is a member of the Italian Society of Perio (sidP), International member of the American Academy of Periodontology and an active member of the Italian Society of Esthetic Dentistry (IAED).
