Course aims:

To provide an introduction of guided surgery to implant dentists working within the field today.

This course will explain a short history of guided surgery and a summary of where guided surgery techniques exist at the present time. It will be presented by two experienced implant surgeons with different perspectives in implant guided surgery including in house guide milling and third party milling.

Delegates will emerge from this course with a much deeper understanding of the benefits of guided surgery and the systems available to provide it within their own practicing sphere.

Course content:

  • An introduction to Guided Surgery to include a discussion of CBCT in conjunction with intra oral scanning, recent advances in digital workflow, examples of the workflow providers available and the advantages/disadvantages of these and a short description of terms in guided surgery abbreviations
  • A hands on guided surgery session using coDiagnostiX
  • Digital workflow explained to include lab based scanning and milling of guides, in house scanning with lab based milling and in house planning and milling.
  • Business considerations in guided surgery and digital workflow
  • Guided surgery from treatment planning to execution; a description of a tried and tested workflow
  • Simple restoration from guided surgery
