Course aims:

THIS TWO-DAY COURSE IS INTENDED FOR THE GENERAL PRACTITIONER WHO IS STARTING OR PLANS TO START UPON THE PATHWAY TO JOIN THE EXCITING FIELD OF IMPLANT SUPPORTED RECONSTRUCTIVE DENTISTRY. During the course participants will be familiarised with: the basics of implantology – its origin and importance in contemporary dentistry; pertinent materials science considerations; indications and contra indications in dental implant treatment, types of prosthetic reconstructions together with their advantages and disadvantages plus, the necessary instruments, techniques and components for successful deployment of implant supported reconstructions. Participants will have practical demonstrations and hands on practice with the essential reconstruction techniques in a small group environment. There will also be a break out session giving an introductory overview of the process of computer planned fully guided implant placement.

Dr. Krzysztof GRONKIEWICZ, DDS, PhD A graduate of the Faculty of Medicine/ Department of Dentistry, Jagiellonian University Medical College (CMUJ). He graduated four-year master program in Prosthodontics and fifth year master program in Oral Surgery. Continued his studies at the New York University College of Dentistry (Implant Continuum Education NYU OSIS CEIA) and through training at various perio implantology like Postgraduate Prof. Markus Hurzeler Perio-Curriculum in Cracow and many more. He‘s been involved in the Galasinski Project - face transplant after being disfigured in a workplace accident - was responsible for Complex Implant Restorative Therapy.

Implant impressions and prosthetics 13. Single-Tooth Replacement: Treatment Options Restorations 14. Splinted versus single-unit restorations of multiple adjacent posterior implants 15. Combination of implant and natural tooth support 16. Implants in the Load Carrying Part of the Dentition 17. Multi-Unit Implant Fixed Prostheses 18. Provisional restorations in implant prosthetic dentistry - Immediate 19. Maintenance of Dental Implants: Implant Quality of Health Scale.
