Course aims:

The ideal introductory and refresher course for Implant Nursing. This course aims to increase delegate knowledge and confidence in Implant Dentistry through six ​interactive ​presentations ​and ​hands-on ​workshops ​throughout ​the ​day.

Course content:

Delegates ​will ​learn ​the ​key ​features ​of ​an ​implant; ​what ​makes ​for ​successful ​Osseointegration; ​basic ​anatomy; ​patient ​selection ​and ​the ​consultation ​process; ​the ​importance ​of ​their ​role ​in ​assisting ​the ​dentist ​in ​pre ​and ​post-op ​patient ​care; ​the ​aseptic ​technique ​pre ​and ​post-surgery; ​the ​different ​implant ​components, ​surgical ​instrumentation ​and ​equipment ​by ​placing ​an ​implant ​into ​a ​model ​jaw.

Learning Outcomes

Delegates will increase their knowledge in line with GDC guidelines on:

  • Implants
  • Setting up the dental surgery
  • Basic anatomy
  • Aseptic technique

Kasia Allan has been actively involved in training Dental Nurses in the field of Implant Dentistry for the past 4 years and recognises the importance of Continuing Professional Development, having completed her Certificate in Implant Dental Nursing at Kings College, London.

Registered with the GDC and a member of both the ADI and ADIA, Kasia has over 10 years experience in assisting many invasive, advanced and complex procedures and is keen to share her knowledge and encourage her professional peers to adhere to best practice and GDC guidelines.
