Course aims:

This course will focus on developing diagnostic and surgical skills to be able to manage the posterior maxilla for implant therapy particularly where sinuses have pneumatised excessively. It will constitute interactive seminars for the dissemination of information. It will also use practical sessions for the development of skills and finally participants will be able to view live surgical procedures.

Course content:

Anatomy of the posterior maxilla and the maxillary sinus. Interactive diagnostic procedures Dealing with poor quality bone. Live Surgery - VRinOR Surgical technique for manipulation of the sinus floor Surgical technique for the sinus lift procedure. Pharmacological management of the patient. Avoidance and management of complications.

Course Benefits:

Managing the posterior maxilla. At the end of this course the participants will be able to diagnose accurately the need for treatment and identify the most suitable type of treatment. It will address this the identification of hazards and their avoidance using three-dimensional imaging. The simulation of the sinus lift procedure and the use of bone condensers will be carried out on an animal model along with the observation of live surgical procedures.
