Steve Campbell RDT is the manager and senior implant technician of the experienced dental implant laboratory, Ambridge Ceramics Ltd. which works with some of the most highly regarded prosthetic laboratories to deliver the best restorative options to implant and cosmetic surgeons in the UK. Steve is the current ADI Technician committee representative.
Steve works with a skilled team providing solutions for all aspects of implant dentistry, including CAD/CAM abutments, milled bars and planning for complex combination cases.
Passionate about dental technology and its possibilities, Steve provides information and backup to anyone interested in utilizing CAD/CAM solutions to provide better restorations for their patients.
Visiting Professor at the Department of Periodontology and Implant Dentistry, University of Detroit Mercy School of Dentistry, MI, USA and London representative to the ADI began placing dental implants in 1991 under the mentorship of ADI founding President, Barry Edwards.
He has been Principal Dentist of the same West London practice for the last 24 years and has for the last ten of them developed both synthetic (Alloplastic) Materials and the surgical techniques to optimise their use.
With over 2,000 grafts Peter has spoken globally in over 30 countries as well as writing numerous journal articles and research papers.
Peter is also Director of the DIA, Secretary of the London Dental Fellowship and an active member of the BACD.
Abid graduated from the Glasgow Dental School before undertaking his diploma of membership of the Faculty of Dental Surgery in Edinburgh and a Masters Degree at Glasgow University. He has had extensive training both in the UK and overseas in the field of Implantology.
He limits his treatments to implants and the management of complex cases.
He has a particular interest in immediate loading and soft tissue grafting.
Abid has recently been appointed as a committee member and treasurer for the Association of Dental Implantology. He has also been appointed in the past to the editorial board for the publication Implant Dentistry and as a committee member of British Society of Oral Implantology.
Outside dentistry he has been appointed a trustee for the Riverside Museum
Appeal and is an ambassador for the Yorkhill Hospital charity.
UK-qualified Dr Philip Friel heads a team of 18 at Glasgow's Philip Friel Advanced Dentistry clinic which is the current 'Best Private Practice' in the prestigious Dentistry Scotland Awards 2011 and also 'Practice of the Year - Scotland' in the Private Dentistry Awards 2011.
Dr Friel concentrates on restorative and cosmetic dentistry with special focus on dental implants. As a referral clinic, Dr Friel and his team work with and mentor a number of Scottish dentists.
Named in Dentistry Magazine's 2010 list of the UK's Top 50 Most Influential Dentists, Dr Friel was said to be "regarded as one of Scotland's finest implants surgeons". Dr Friel is the current ADI President.
Stephen Jones qualified at UCL in 1983 and trained as a Prosthodontist. He has placed and restored over 2500 dental implants since 1990 using five main brand implant systems. He works in full-time referral practice in Newbury and is the ADI West Central regional representative. He has mentored many dentists and was an MGDS examiner between 1996-2002. He authored the ADI on-line ARK module on ‘Fixed Prosthetics’ and has participated in educational programmes with several implant companies, GKT Dental School, the Eastman Implant Diploma, the Oxford and Wessex Deaneries, the FGDP (UK), the University of Manchester Restorative MSc and has been an advisor for Dental Protection Ltd.
Dr Craig Parker is principal of Primley Park Dental Implants referral centre in Leeds. He has a special interest in the use of digital technology in implantology and has worked internationally with experts in computer guided implant surgery.
Craig has been working in surgical dentistry in Yorkshire for over 20 years and has now placed several hundred dental implants. He has received extensive advanced training in dental implants alongside some of the world's most renowned dental implant experts, including Professor Cemal Ucer at the University of Manchester and Professor Danny Buser at the University of Bern, in Switzerland.
As well as placing dental implants in Leeds Craig is the visiting dental implantologist to other practices providing dental implants in Yorkshire.
Craig is on the national board with the FGDP and on board of examiners at the Royal College of Surgeons of England, responsible for setting and maintaining the highest standards for dental professionals in the UK, and represents the North East of England on the Association of Dental Implantology national committee. Craig is also the president elect for the ADI.
He is also an active member, study club director and accredited mentor with the International Team for Implantology (ITI), one of the world's most prestigious dental implant research and educational organisations.
Craig regularly lectures throughout the UK, teaches on several Implantology MSc programmes and is part of the Straumann Faculty of Trainers in Implantology.
Karen qualified from Edinburgh in 1994 and immediately moved to Nottingham where she worked in a mix of NHS and Corporate practices over the years. She now divides her time between two Specialist Referral practices; The Campbell Clinic in West Bridgeford, Nottingham and Refine in Alfreton, Derby. Her role in both practices is to provide NSPT for referred periodontal patients, and both pre-op and maintenance for implant patients. Five years ago Karen developed protocols based on OH and Risk for all patients undergoing implant treatments.
Karen is a speaker for the International Team for Implantology (ITI) and has lectured at International Congress and study club level. Karen spoke at The ADI's Members National Forum last year. Karen regularly writes and lectures on the subject of Implant Maintenance and Complications and runs Study Clubs for Hygienists and Therapists through the Campbell Academy. She is also a Key Opinion Leader for Dentsply and delivers 'hands on' courses for dentists and hygienists. Karen is on the editorial advisory board of DH&T magazine, a magazine designed for Dental Hygienists and Therapists.
As well as the ITI and ADI, Karen is also a member of The British Society of Periodontology and The British Society of Dental Hygienists and Therapists. Karen is the current ADI DCP committee representative.
