Autogenous onlay block bone grafts - the gold standard?

This presentation will address the repair of bony deficiencies using block bone grafts prior to the use of implants for the replacement of missing teeth.

It will critically review the current literature and describe basic biological principles and physiological processes underlying this procedure.

Sample clinical cases will be presented demonstrating this technique. The methodology will be described to include a range of donor sites as well as healing times with and without supplementary membranes.

The presentation will be supported by clinical data on outcome, survival and stability.
